 Arthritis in Women
For women in the U.S. arthritis is one of the most common and limiting chronic diseases. This finding was reported based on a survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of greater than 24,000 women. In 5 million of the 23 million women affected the pain prevents them from carrying out their normal daily activities. The number of women predicted to suffer from arthritis is expected to increase as the U.S. population ages.

To reduce the impact of arthritis the following recommendations are made:

  • control weight
  • exercise
  • and discuss with your physician whether you should use over-the-counter medication for pain
