• Avoid taking aspirin or aspirin-containing drugs for at least 3 days before the test(look for aspirin, salicylate, or salicylic acid on the label) If you have taken aspirin within that time, please tell the technician. (Avoid taking any over the counter medication which contains an aspirin substitute such as ibuprofen or tylenol within two days of the procedure.
• Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, you may eat meals at your regular times.
• Please give your doctor a complete medical history of your family. The doctor needs to know if anyone in your family has a history of unusual bleeding or a diagnosed bleeding disorder (ex.hemophilia).

Be prepared to tell us:

1. your name,
2. your date of birth,
3. your social security number,
4. your doctor's name, and
5. the name of the test your doctor wants you to have.
