AIDS EDUCATION PROJECT

Participation in AIDS Education Project is encouraged by the Immunology course director.  Participation will earn 2 points (extra credit) towards your final grade. Participation is on a voluntary basis.

 

Assignments have been made by the AIDS Foundation Houston. Check Blackboard for your schedule. Please be flexible. Contact your student representative if a change in time of volunteer activity is necessary. Thank you for your participation!

 

 

 

Opportunities to participate are available through the AIDS Foundation Houston (www.aidshelp.org).  You may participate in any of the programs listed below. The programs include (but are not limited to):

 

AIDS Walk 2008: participation in the 18th annual AIDS Walk Houston (March 9th, 2008), with opportunities to assist in multiple aspects of the event, including establishing a participating "team".

Participation criteria to be defined to receive course credit.

Walk date is Sunday 3/9/08. Participation times are scheduled through the AFH. Info on AIDS Walk 2008

Pediatric Assistance to adults involved in the Friendly Haven program,

 where homeless, HIV-positive women and their children and families are

 offered an opportunity for a better life. The program gives clients the

 necessary childcare support as they successfully transition from life on

 the streets, to a life of emotional and economic stability.

Course participation of 1 session to earn credit.

Participation times are scheduled through the AFH.
